Hastings Coffee Co.

A place for community, family, friends and tourist to meet up.

To feel seen, welcomed and cared for, over good coffee and food.

A welcoming, caring community is exactly what we felt walking into Hastings Coffee Co. on the afternoon of Saturday, September 4, 2025.  It permeates the atmosphere.  Chamane, who is co-owner with her husband Marcus, literally welcomed us with open arms and a huge smile.

She didn't know us.  We didn't know her.

That changed quickly.  The three of us sat together: chatting, laughing, indulging in good vibes.  There was so much depth to this meeting by chance, after a brief passing while we chatted with a neighboring  company's partner owners.  To one another, we offered strength, understanding, and encouragement.  Those factors, along with realizing our connection as alumna of Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU), prompted the scheduling of our return trip the next day for a brand shoot and meeting with other community leaders.

The next day, we were welcomed with even more of a caring community of coffee drinkers.  Just as Chamane had, Marcus greeted us with a huge smile and so much warmth.

He didn't know us.  We didn't know him.

Taking the path of the previous day, that changed quickly.  We were introduced to others who reminded us that our meeting was not by chance, then we were able to get some behind-the-scenes footage of daily happenings at Hastings Coffee Co.  It was inspiring.

Of course we had samples.  And, yes, they were delectable!  I have to rave on the drinks, though.  In so many ways, they were just like our meeting and newly formed connections.  So balanced.  Light, but flavorful.  Refreshing.  We'll just say Hastings Coffee Co. gave us more than we ever bargained for, or expected to gain.  Our visit and interaction there is what spawned the idea of two small businesses coming together to present stories of community, of connection, of individuals and other small businesses.  Hence, Through the Lens: Stories of Community and Creativity.
It is the pleasure of Tend 2U Bartending & More to work alongside B Eternity Photography to present these inspiring and heartwarming stories within the community.
Cheers to our first published work!
